Falling numbers of worshippers has meant that many of the Victorian chapels in Wales have fallen into ruin. Capel Moreia Baptist Chapel in Dale Street is no different. Services ceased here in the 1990s and the chapel was used for antiques and then as a grocer's shop before finally being abandoned. It has become even more derelict since this picture was taken, with local calls for the site to be redeveloped. Update from August 2023 - The chapel is no more as it has now been demolished.
