Kingley Wood stands beside the A127 as you approach Rayleigh and is the only surviving ancient wood in Rayleigh. It can be approached by foot from Western Road, Hollytree Gardens or Weir Farm Road. I found an entrance from the cycle path on the A127, Southend bound. You would not believe this was a very short distance from an Arterial Road. See entrance from Western Road Image
