The cottages are Grade II listed. The listing text begins "Mid C17 with C18 alterations and extensions, restored c 1980. Timber-framed with red-brick nogging and extensions, some render, rubble and blue brick". The brook is a tributary of Kingston Brook, so its waters reach the Trent via the River Soar.
