Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of North Elmsall (Wakefield District), Hall Lane, North Elmsall, just off the former A638, on footpath in front of Milestone House, on South-east side of road. DW iron plate, erected by the Red House & Crofton Turnpike Trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- LONDON 171 D 9 W 11 Grade II Listed.
