The church is in the patronage of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. The church as it now stands mostly dates from the second decade of the 20th century, though the tower with its little spire is largely from a rebuild of 1352, following a fire which burnt down the church and most of the town. http://www.chatteris.org/history
