This statue represents the hundreds of thousands of Irishmen who were engaged throughout these islands and beyond in building canals, railways, roads and ports. Unveiled in 2011 it is the work of the sculptor Barry Linnane. https://www.newry.ie/9-news/latest/414-newry-navvy-unveiled
