Carved stone post by the A4, in parish of Thatcham (West Berkshire District), Bath Road; Colthrop industrial estate, on grass verge below bushes, on South side of road. Bath Road limestone shoulders, erected by the Speenhamland to Reading turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / NEWBURY / 4 : : To / LONDON / 52 : : To / READING / 13 : Carved benchmark bottom of face. Grade II listed.
