The blue plaque commemorates Arthur Lowe, best known for his part as Captain Mainwaring in the long-running and frequently repeated television sitcom 'Dad's Army', who it states was born in this terrace (suggesting that nobody is sure exactly which house). Hayfield is a very different place to the fictional Warmington on Sea or to the East Anglian town that hosts his statue: Image
