View southward, towards the new Temple Hirst Junction, Doncaster etc., ex-NER Shaftholme Junction - York section of the ECML. Temple Hirst station was closed to passengers 6/3/61, to goods 6/7/64. Until the Selby Diversion (Temple Hirst Junction - Colton Junction) on the right, electrified 1987, was completed in 10/83, the main line was the one to the left, which goes to Selby and Hull, the section of ECML from Barlby Junction (beyond Selby) to Chaloners Whin Junction (south of York) being closed completely.
