Looking towards housing in Ladymoor Road. There is a lot of abandoned mining ground along the canal here by the former Capponfield Colliery (closed in August 1907). Some of it is grassy, and there is a lot of rough woodland. Some tethered horses graze, maybe illegally, but the grass is sparse at this time of year so I do hope they are fed and exercised daily.
