Introduction

The photograph on this page of Byway starts here by Duncan Lilly as part of the Geograph project.

The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Although it is technically an open byway the "except for access" and large yellow chains on the gates (hidden by the grass) mean that only the farmer's vehicles can use it. Horses and cycles can use the smaller gate.
