Bournemouth - Walton House

William Henry Smith (1792 - 1865) was a British entrepreneur and founder of the W H Smith & Son chain of newsagents with his son as partner in 1846. Walton House was built by him in 1861-62 as a retirement home and named after his father Henry Walton Smith. He lived here until his death in 1865. Image
