A sign http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4231295 in Union Street points towards this building, set back 35 metres along an alley. The church (as a group of worshippers) dates from 1821, when a few members met in a private house in Melksham. This church, Ebenezer, was built in 1835. The present day (2014) worshippers are an Independent Evangelical Baptist Church.
