The tree at the far end of the orchard (the one roped-off) is believed to be the one* where Newton is said to have observed the falling apples - leading to the formulation of his theories (and later law) of universal gravitation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Isaac_Newton#Apple_incident . *If not the actual tree, a survivor from the same rootstock.
