The semicircular panels on the bases of fonts such as this one are known as "lunettes", or more prosaically, "cushions". The north and south lunettes of the font here at Weston Turville's St Mary's church have this intricate interlaced floral design and differ from the east & west lunettes seen here Image] See also Image] Image] and Image]
