There were two railway routes to Inverness from the south through Strathspey. The crossing here is on the older route, the Inverness and Perth Junction Railway which ran through Grantown and over Dava Moor. It is now the Strathspey Railway which provides steam excursions to Broomhill. The cyclists are returning hired bikes to the excellent Bothy Bikes who have a shop nearby.
