Looking north along the A449 towards Great Malvern and Worcester. On the right of the picture there is a milestone "11 miles to Worcester Cross". The milestone predates the granite Malvern stone wall. The granite stone is excellent for making roads, but due to its tetrahedron like shape (always a point opposite a flat surface) it is very poor for walls. A section of wall has recently collapsed with a temporary fence of scaffolding and orange netting in its place.
