One of the city's most - perhaps the most - impressive industrial buildings. On a prodigious scale and with a degree of architectural ambition. Built for James Dixon & Sons, manufacturers of Britannia metal, silver plate and cutlery, in various phases from 1822. That seen here dates from 1851-54. Grade II* listed.
