Berwick Electricals, on Manchester's Tib Street in the Northern Quarter, is housed in what was once weavers' cottages. Weaving used to be a home industry, and houses would have living space below and the top floor devoted to looms. Characteristic of such houses is a long row of windows just below the roof to let in maximum light.
