Thornton Heath's large number of residents with Caribbean roots means the presence of posters for a distinctive Caribbean entertainment circuit which never impinges on the mainstream UK media. Delcita, played by the actress Andrea Wright, was a running character in a series of "roots" plays; the actress retired the persona in 2014 but subsequently returned with a slightly different version (see http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/entertainment/20141221/delcita-says-goodbye-theatre-0 and http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/entertainment/20150906/new-delcita-back-theatres ). Oliver Samuels is a stand-up comedian and comic actor known as Jamaica's King of Comedy: he regularly tours in the UK (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Samuels ).
