Entrance to the former Crown public house, Glinton

The Crown public house was built in the late 1950s, replacing an earlier pub of the same name at the same location. It closed in 2006. After briefly reopening as an Indian restaurant, the building was converted into a nursery school. As of October 2013, the signs of its former function were still visible outside the front door, however. Following The Crown's closure, The Blue Bell on High Street opposite St. Benedict's Church is now the village's sole remaining pub.
