This cottage is said to have been the probable birth place of Dick Turpin, the highwayman. Although his father was proprietor of the Rose and Crown Inn at the time. Nowadays this 17th C. dwelling is Grade II listed with English Heritage Building ID: 405660 and the pub has been renamed The Bluebell.
