The Church of St Mary the Virgin, East Bergholt

St Mary's Church in East Bergholt was begun around 1350 and was largely complete two hundred years later. The Church is well known for the absence of a tower or spire to house the bells. Work began on a tower in 1525, but construction was halted in 1530 and the tower was never built. The church is a Grade I listed building (http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-278754-church-of-st-mary-east-bergholt-suffolk British listed buildings)
