Grand Union Canal: Bridge Number 48B

This bridge carries the West Coast Main Line railway over the canal, and the original crossing dates from about the mid-1830s, when the London & Birmingham Railway was completed. The canal's bridge numbering system was already well-established by this time hence the intermediate number between 48 and 49. Please see Image for details of Bridge Number 48A.
