The Connswater Shopping Centre has been extended twice since it opened 30 years ago. Now pedestrians only, this entrance, at Bloomfield Avenue Image (opposite Bloomdale Street), was originally the sole means of access and probably helped in transforming the street from one that was mainly residential to one that was mixed residential and retail.
