Thornton Junction station is to the right, Dunfermline to the left: ex-NBR Stirling via Alloa and Forth Bridge etc. via Dunfermline (Lower) line. The ex-NBR Reid class S (LNER J37) locomotive here was built in 12/19 as No. 300 (LNER No. 9300, 1946 No. 4606) and survived until 7/66.
