Taken in 2003, this image shows the fine Georgian building at 32 Market Place, which has for the last 30 years been occupied by a traditional independent new and second-hand bookshop. Prior to that it was a private residence. Grade II listed, the Georgian frontage was built upon two earlier rubble-walled cottages. The interior features original wood panelling, stone-flagged floors and an original 18th century hand-carved stair case. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, so it is well-worth a visit to anyone with an interest in either architecture or books! See http://www.oldhallbooks.com for more information.
