The driver of 0-4-0T No 8 "Dougal" exchanging the token with the signalman as they pass the signal box on arrival at Llanfair Caereinion. It is pulling a demonstration freight that it had been operating as far down the line as Cyfronydd. "Dougal" was built for work at Provan Gas Works in Glasgow by Andrew Barclay in Kilmarnock in 1946
