A class 45 powers up non stop through the station at Kettering in the days when the signal box pictured controlled the station and area. The box was closed on 5th December 1987 when signalling between Sharnbrook and Market Harborough passed to Leicester signal box but it remained in situ until 5th June 1988 when the box was moved to the Midland Railway Trust at Swanwick Junction.
