Quite unlike its London namesake. The south side of the street, shown here, is all flint-faced cottages. On the other side of the street there are red brick buildings of later date, set further back from the roadway and a little above it. In the Sussex volume of 'The Buildings of England' Ian Nairn - whose opinions I always respect - describes this (along with Mount Pleasant, glimpsed straight ahead) as 'almost the nicest part of Arundel'. I'm not going to disagree.
