This scanned slide shows a view of the JCB factory at Rocester about 1970. They had already constructed a lake of their own, visible in the centre of the picture. Since then there have been more major landscaping operations, and a new road. However the airfield for the company jets did not come to fruition. Even in 1970 the factory had grown larger than the local village, which had previous claims to fame for a Roman building and an early Arkwright Mill.
