This small compound, next to blocks of flats in Hillington Square, is surrounded by grade-II listed walls of English bond brickwork. The east and north sides date from the 16th century and have lower courses built from carstone and sloping bricks as coping. The compound was in use as a Jewish burial ground from 1811 to 1846. The padlocked entrance gate is located in the centre of the north wall protecting 16 headstones inscribed in Hebrew. The inscriptions are very weathered and some of the stones are broken.
