The Gillivoan House was built sometime near 1750. It served as the free church manse and is reputed to be the oldest habitable residence in Latheron. Gillivoan used to be a part of the parish of Latheron. It was in a ruined state when I knew it about 1997 and was used to store hay bales in. It was refurbished by Mr and Mrs Weeden with Murdo Campbell organising the work. An extra floor level was added from two floors to three during the refurbishment. The bungalow next door was built in about 1950 when the current owner could not afford to fix the main Gillivoan house. The main A9 runs behind the two houses with the houses overlooking the Latheron Estate valley.
