Dodwyd y dryll 'Howitzer' Almaenaidd o'r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf ar gopa Twyn y Garth oddeutu 1920 fel cofeb ryfel. Ceir traddodiad lleol i'r ddryll gael ei ddwyn o Erwd gan lanciau Aberedw ond fe'i hail-gipiwyd gan wyr ifainc Erwd a'i ddodi yn y man presennol. Adnewyddwyd y dryll yn 2001 The German Howitzer field gun from WWI was placed on top of the summit of Twyn y Garth hill around 1920 as a war memorial. There is a local tradition which says that the gun was stolen from Erwood by lads from Aberedw. The young men from Erwood then retrieved the gun and placed in its present position. The gun was restored in 2001
