Remains of Tingley Station

Situated off the A653 Dewsbury Road near Junction 28 of the M62 Motorway, this station was on the railway line between Ardsley and Laisterdyke which saw the end of passenger traffic in July, 1966, although the station itself closed on the 1st February, 1954. The line was subsequently closed to goods traffic in the late 1960s. Very little remains now, although an embankment near where it used to cross the A653 can still be seen. Also, Station Lane, WF3 1QX, is nearby as a reminder that a station used to exist there.
