Brookland Wood belongs to the Woodland Trust. They bought the field in November 1996 with contributions from the community of Fontmell Magna,the Lottery Fund, Dorset County Council and a legacy from Miss Doris Clapton. This plaque says: This site was part funded by a legacy from Miss Doris Clapton and is dedicated to the Bournemouth and Poole Rambling Club. Cared for by the Woodland Trust
