This is the view through the Image The grandness of the gates makes it clear that this was once the main approach to the Manor. In those days the area visible here must have been open parkland. Possibly there was once a formal avenue of trees, but if so it has long since been lost in this tangle of woodland. But it's daffodil time, the sky is bright, and looking at the picture you can almost hear the drumming of woodpeckers.
