The near bend is on the bridge over Pallin's Burn which flows east to join the River Till east of Crookham. The buildings on the west side of the main road are part of The Coach House, once a cluster of three cottages dating from the mid to late C17th (known as Pallinsburn Cottages) http://www.keystothepast.info/article/10339/Site-Details?PRN=N1892 and now an establishment offering 'Dinner, Bed & Breakfast'.
