The memorial stands on a roundabout at the east end of The Leas http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1837258 . It was unveiled in 1922 - for contemporary photos, see http://www.folkestonehistory.org/index.php?page=folkestone-civic-memorial . Plaques around the plinth commemorate the dead of both World Wars. The magnificent art nouveau statue was sculpted by the artist FV Blundstone.
