Unlike the dull concrete facades of the large majority of retail outlets in Teesside Park, Morrisons supermarket is purpose built to project the corporate image, and proves to be an architectural highspot. Inevitably, though, whatever the architectural merits of such buildings, they are destined to be mere backdrops to interminable vistas of parked cars and form iconic representations of that dreariest of activities, shopping.
