Tents of people attending the WOMAD festival cover much of the parkland. Car parks and the festival arena took up many acres as well. There seem to be more festivals every year, bringing income to landowners and work for armies of stewards, security personnel and other workers. The majority of stewards at British festivals are organised by OXFAM whose income from festivals may reach a record of more than a million pounds this year (2009). WOMAD is a festival devoted mainly to music from all regions of the world. See the website for details.
