The war memorial in Oulton Lane is a grade II listed structure erected in the 1920's, and dedicated to the men who gave their lives in the two world wars. A life-sized granite statue of an infantryman surmounts the memorial, and the inscriptions read, "HONOUR THE FALLEN" at the top, and on the pedestal "THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918", with their names on all 4 sides (96 in all). A further inscription on the base reads "1939-1945" with a further 40 names added.
