Wallace's Stone

Local legend says that the great Scottish freedom fighter, William Wallace, laid his sword on this stone. Some of his followers marked the three-and-a-half feet long sword's outline on this boulder, deepening the outline afterwards. It's not easy to see the marking now. The stone was brought to this site from its original location, near the Halfway Bridge in Image (Source: "Ayr Stories", by Dane Love)
