The front section of No 57, right of picture, and grade II listed, has the remains of a late medieval timber-framed building. The rear section to Gill's Yard, Image was once used as a furniture and upholstery warehouse by Wright and Elwick of Wakefield, the important Yorkshire furniture maker.
