No. 34 De La Pole Avenue, Hull, complete with blue heritage plaque which reads: 'Poet & writer Stevie Smith (1902-1971) was born here 20th September 1902'. She only lived here until the age of three when the family moved to Palmers Green in London where she spent most of her life. Stevie Smith (real name Florence Margaret Smith) wrote three novels and nine volumes of poetry and is probably best known for her poem 'Not Waving but Drowning' published in 1957. http://www.poetryarchive.org/poetryarchive/singlePoem.do?poemId=7089
