A rear view of the modern building from Henry Street. Entrance in Cantilupe Road. The library was built on the site of the former Board, or National School, built in 1874, extended in 1889, closed in 1953 when the John Kyrle High School opened. It then served for a few years as a primary school until it was demolished in 1969.
