This was once the school playing field for Lucton Girls' School, which closed several years ago. It is now owned by Epping Forest college, who wish to build a sports centre on it. So this view may not be here for much longer. In the distance you can see Canary Wharf to the left, and the tallest buildings of the square mile to the right (the Swiss Re tower and Tower 42, or more commonly known as the Gerkhin and the Nat West Tower). Central London is 16 miles away from Loughton.
