The hospital is situated on Firby Lane to the west of the city centre. The 1856 map shows the 'Dispensary' on this site, so one must presume that the hospital is over 150 years old. The 1:50000 map shows the building in SE3071, but the 1:25000 map shows at least half the building [including the frontage] in SE3171.
