Locations
Bournemouth Central Police Station
Madeira Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH1 1QL
Southbourne, Pokesdown and Littledown form the Policing area between Boscombe and Christchurch. They are relaxed multi-cultural residential areas, but still retain a bustling locality for tourists with some unique and individual shops and high street chains. The primary attraction is the areas sandy Blue Flag beaches, which provides a quieter retreat from the more crowded beach along the coast at Bournemouth.

Priorities
1 Apr 2024 | Drug dealing As with last year’s survey the number one priority highlighted was Drug Dealing. Also linked to this was County Lines which featured in the top ten list. |
1 Apr 2024 | Anti-Social Behaviour
In recent surveys you highlighted Anti-Social Behaviour one of your main concerns. This is a highly emotive topic as it can affect you at home, work or during leisure time. We understand that you need someone to stand in the gap with you when you are faced with behaviours like this and it can come in many forms – noise issues, littering, fly tipping, verbal abuse, graffiti, problem neighbours, community disruption, drug use, rough sleeping, problem youths or adult groups.
Please continue to support us by reporting it online or through the 101 system. It is also worth checking the BCP Council website as they have dedicated Teams to assist with some of these matters. We as your local Team have and will continue to do the following to assist you - A dedicated Police Officer and PCSO to manage your ward area. (see the officers above) Increased High Vis and Covert patrols based on your reports. Increased stop checks of people and vehicles acting suspiciously. Working alongside the BCP Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team to get civil orders in place against persistent offenders. |
1 Apr 2024 | Shoplifting Since March this year your NPT has launched Op Turnover which is a specific Operation to target prolific shoplifters within your community. We have already seen significant results and prison time as a result.

1 Oct 2024 | Drug dealing As with last year’s survey the number one priority highlighted was Drug Dealing. We will continue to actively target street dealing, the wider supply chain and repeat offenders. We are acutely aware of the detrimental impact drug activity has on the community and local businesses. By targeting the most prolific offenders we aim to not only reduce overt street dealing but also protect those who become victims of cuckooing, leaving no place within our community where drug dealers can hide. In order to best deploy our resources we rely on community intelligence so that we can target specific locations at hotspot times, working with our partners to increase our disruption activity. It is only by working together that we can reduce this criminality and let the dealers know there is no place in our community for them. |
1 Oct 2024 | Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) came out as a close second on our priority surveys. ASB impacts on people’s lives and can be extremely personal. We are committed to supporting the community and tacking this head on. We work regularly with the Local Authority to target, disrupt and deter Anti-Social Behaviour. We effectively use civil orders such as Community Protection Notices, Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions and Closure Orders, to deal with the most prolific people and impose prohibitions on them. We encourage reporting from the community to assist us with the evidence gathering process. In addition we will continue to provide high visibility patrols to deter antisocial activity and encourage reporting from the community to assist us with deploying our resources in the most effective way. |
