The Lychgate

Looking from Kirk Port into the lychgate of the Auld Kirk of St John the Baptist. Uncommon in Scotland, the gate is dated 1656. The church was built to replace the older St John's church that Oliver Cromwell took over as a site for his Ayr citadel.
